Odisha recently celebrated a proud moment when Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the name of Om Prakash Rath from Kendrapara district during his popular radio programme, Mann Ki Baat. The recognition has brought national attention to the young Odia, whose thoughtful ideas on women's empowerment impressed the Prime Minister and earned appreciation at the highest level.

Om Prakash Rath, a bright young student from Ratadia Khandsahi Panchayat in Kendrapara, came into the national spotlight through the My Bharat Budget Quest initiative, a competition designed to encourage youth participation in policymaking and nation-building. Among lakhs of participants from across India, Om Prakash's essay on women-led development stood out for its vision, creativity, and progressive thinking.  During the 132nd episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi specifically highlighted Om Prakash Rath's contribution, noting that his ideas reflected a modern and empowering approach toward the role of women in society. The Prime Minister appreciated his perspective that women should not merely be beneficiaries of government schemes but active partners and leaders in the country's development journey.

The recognition was a matter of immense pride not only for Om Prakash and his family but also for the entire state of Odisha. Following the Prime Minister's mention, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated the young achiever and described his accomplishment as an inspiration for the youth of the state. The Chief Minister later felicitated Om Prakash Rath and wished him success in his future endeavors.  What makes Om Prakash's achievement particularly remarkable is that it demonstrates the growing role of young minds in shaping public discourse.
